Home2 Suites By Hilton New York Times Square Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Home2 Suites By Hilton New York Times Square, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place right in the thick of Midtown madness. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that feels refreshing after dealing with the sensory overload of 48th Street outside. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the TKTS stairs and all that Times Square chaos, but somehow they’ve managed to create this calm bubble inside.

What really sold me on this place was the suite setup – and I’m talking actual suites here, not those “junior suites” that are basically regular rooms with a couch shoved in the corner. The kitchenettes are legit useful, with full-size fridges and proper counter space where you can actually spread out your takeout from Joe Allen (which is right around the corner, by the way). The Murphy beds are kind of genius too, though I’ll admit it took me a hot minute to figure out how to fold mine up without feeling like I was going to break something. The whole layout just makes sense when you’re staying in New York for more than a couple nights and you’re tired of eating every single meal out or living off overpriced hotel room service.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture – yes, you’re in Times Square, but you’re on the right part of 48th Street where it’s still walkable without feeling like you’re in a tourist mosh pit. The subway access is clutch (you’ve got the N, Q, R, W, S lines all within a block), and honestly, the street noise isn’t as brutal as you’d expect once you get up a few floors. I stayed on the 12th floor and could barely hear the typical Midtown symphony of sirens and honking. The staff actually knows the neighborhood too – the front desk guy pointed me toward Schmackary’s for cookies and warned me about the construction on 7th Avenue that was going to mess with my morning coffee run. Those little touches matter when you’re trying to navigate the city like you know what you’re doing. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but for the price point and location, it delivers exactly what it promises without any weird surprises or hidden fees that make you feel like you got played.

Reviews of Home2 Suites By Hilton New York Times Square

  • Overall would definitely stay again. Rooms were clean and comfortable – Lori from United States – September 2, 2025 (8/10)

Location was perfect, roof top bar was very nice and convenient. Breakfast was ok with lots of food choices.

    What could be improved: Elevators

  • Very Good – Maricela from United States – September 1, 2025 (8/10)

I loved that I could walk everywhere

What could be improved: The Air Conditioner in the room was not cold enough and the elevators were VERY slow

  • Very Good – Ilkhom from Uzbekistan – August 28, 2025 (8/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Elevators always busy

  • Very Good – Sharie from United States – August 22, 2025 (8/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: The bed and sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable. I have stayed at other home2 suites in the past and they were much better.
Also the rooms were much smaller than other home2 suites I’ve stayed in.

  • Ok but even for 3 stars some improvements are needed – Andreea from Australia – August 22, 2025 (8/10)

Perfect location, staff is nice, place is clean

What could be improved: The third bed in the room was very uncomfortable (sofa bed). Those need to be replaced if 3 adults are sleeping in one room, they are old and back was hurting after a couple of nights. You need a proper mattresses for that. Paying a ton of money just to get bad back ache is simply not acceptable. Breakfast is modest, it’s made to fill you up, mainly eggs and potatoes don’t expect anything big and luxurious. More options would be great: cheese, veggies, salads, different meat types etc etc

Lifts are a joke – stopping at every floor even if they are full, they need to fix the weight sensors. I once had to wait 30 mins to go down.

  • Great location and Comfortable Rooms – Aakash from Bahrain – August 21, 2025 (9/10)

Location is good, and I think the price is good for the location .. the kitchenette area in the room is good.
All day coffee available in the lobby.

What could be improved: As everyone has mentioned, the elevator wait times in the morning from 8 to 10.30 are insane !

  • Wonderful – Eduard from Ukraine – August 18, 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was great

What could be improved: Long waiting time for elevators during breakfast time. Not enough space for having breakfast, but I guess that is normal for downtown

  • Two night stay with spouse and a friend to see a show. Location was excellent as we only needed to walk everywhere! – Belford from United States – August 16, 2025 (9/10)

Elevator service safe with room key admission only to floor specific. Breakfast included.

What could be improved: No early check in.

  • Only down side is the waiting for the lift and the toilet area having limited space. – Alan from Bahrain – August 14, 2025 (8/10)

Prime location very near to Time square and St. Patrick cathedral

What could be improved: Breakfast is really good.

  • Very Good – Karlygash from Kazakhstan – August 12, 2025 (8/10)

    Location & suite

What could be improved: Slow Internet. Not working TV.
