I could walk to Grand Central in maybe eight minutes (I timed it), and there’s this little deli two blocks down that locals hit up for the best breakfast sandwiches. The rooms themselves? Well, they’re New York-sized, so don’t expect a palace, but they’re clean and the beds are actually comfortable. The windows open too, which is rarer than you’d think in Manhattan hotels. I stayed during a pretty busy week in October and never felt like I was fighting crowds just to get in and out of the lobby. The neighborhood has that perfect mix where you’ve got your Starbucks and CVS within a block, but also some real character spots that haven’t been chain-stored to death yet. Honestly, for the price point and the genuine personality of the place, I’d stay here again – and I’m pretty picky about hotels after years of work travel gone wrong.
