Four Points by Sheraton New York Downtown Overview

I’ll be honest, when I first walked into Four Points by Sheraton New York Downtown, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star hotel in the Financial District. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in all the right ways. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be trendy, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. I mean, finding a decent place to stay in lower Manhattan that doesn’t completely drain your wallet is no small feat.

What really won me over was the location – and I don’t mean that in the typical “convenient location” way everyone says. Platt Street is this quiet little side street that most tourists never find, which means you’re not dealing with the usual chaos once you step outside. Stone Street’s historic cobblestones and all those after-work drinking spots are literally around the corner, plus you can walk to the Brooklyn Bridge in about ten minutes without fighting crowds. The rooms themselves are exactly what you’d expect from Sheraton – nothing fancy, but everything works and the beds are actually comfortable. I stayed on the eighth floor and honestly barely heard any street noise, which in New York feels like a minor miracle.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the little things that show someone’s paying attention. The elevators are fast (trust me, this matters when you’re tired), there’s always hot coffee in the lobby, and the housekeeping staff actually restocks the bathroom amenities properly. I stayed there during a busy week in October and never had issues with hot water or weird temperature fluctuations that seem to plague so many older hotels in the city. The fitness center is small but has decent equipment if you need to burn off some of those amazing deli sandwiches from the neighborhood. Parking is expensive, sure, but that’s Manhattan for you – at least they have a garage arrangement nearby so you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot. If you’re planning to explore Wall Street, Trinity Church, or catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, you’re basically in the perfect spot without paying those insane prices closer to Times Square or Midtown.

  • Very Good – Bebel from United States – August 16, 2025 (8/10)

Friendly staff, very clean, great location close to the subway

What could be improved: The only ice machine was in the lobby, kind of inconvenient to have to go to the lobby every time. Sometimes a long wait for the elevator (only 3 elevators)

  • Good value considering it’s overpriced New York. – María from United States – August 6, 2025 (8/10)

Location is excellent, close to the metro, the charging bull, one world, and Brooklyn bridge.

What could be improved: Just one microwave downstairs, no microwave nor mini fridge in the rooms. Rooms are small, but expected for NYC.

What could be improved: The room was sooooooo tiny.

  • Overall, a good stay with excellent service and location, but noise levels at night might be an issue for some. – Mohamed from France – July 29, 2025 (9/10)

We had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel staff, especially at the reception, were incredibly friendly and professional, which made check-in and interactions smooth and welcoming. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and all essential amenities were thoughtfully provided both in the bedroom and the bathroom. The location is also a big plus—Fulton Street metro station is less than a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to get around the city.

What could be improved: The main downside was the lack of soundproofing in the windows. Despite being on the 15th floor, we could clearly hear people shouting outside throughout the night, which affected our sleep. If you’re a light sleeper, this could be a concern.

  • thanks Sheraton , I really enjoy my stay. – Graciela from United States – July 24, 2025 (8/10)

The location is perfect for the Financial District area and Pier 17th, which we want to explore this time in New York. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the staff are nice and friendly.

What could be improved: The size of the room was too small this time.
