The building sits right on Washington Street, and you know what? That address matters more than you might think because you’re literally steps from the harbor without being stuck in the tourist chaos further up.

The apartments themselves feel like someone actually thought about how people live, not just sleep. I stayed in what they call a four-star setup, and the kitchen wasn’t just for show – full-size fridge, decent counter space, even a dishwasher that actually works. The living areas are smartly laid out with these floor-to-ceiling windows that, depending on your floor, give you glimpses of the water or at least some decent light (which is saying something in this part of New York). What really impressed me was the attention to details that matter when you’re staying more than a couple nights – good Wi-Fi throughout, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and storage that makes sense. The beds are solid Marriott quality, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than I expected given you’re surrounded by Wall Street energy during the day.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: the neighborhood transforms completely after business hours, going from bustling to almost eerily quiet, which is either perfect or unsettling depending on what you’re after. But that also means you can actually walk around peacefully in the evenings, and the subway connections are genuinely excellent – the R and W trains are right there, plus you can walk to multiple other lines without breaking a sweat. The staff runs things efficiently without being overly formal, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. One small thing – parking is going to cost you if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The building feels secure without being fortress-like, and there’s something nice about having that apartment vibe while still getting hotel-level service when you need it. If you’re doing an extended stay or just want more space than a typical hotel room, especially somewhere you can actually cook a decent meal, this spot delivers without the premium you’d pay in Midtown.

  First time in New York and I chose this hotel purely based on Wifi reviews as I was bringing my PS5. The Wifi was incredibly fast. I had not one issue with the app, always managed to get into my room. Room was huge, clean, comfy, quiet. I will always come back to this hotel, the location is pretty and quiet, so close to the Staten Island Ferry and 9/11 Memorial.

  Clean, quiet and the pool was a bonus. The value for the property was excellent. Kitchen made me want to cook!! We were able to check in earlier and stay after to enjoy the amenities. Stayed in the Georgetown Sonder the year before and it was also excellent.
