When I first walked into Marvelous & Cozy 3BDR & 2BTH in New York, I’ll be honest – the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know, but there’s more to this East Harlem gem than meets the eye. Located right on East 110th Street, you’re basically sitting at the crossroads between Central Park and Spanish Harlem, which means you get the best of both worlds without paying those crazy Midtown prices. The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room, and honestly, after walking around New York all day, that’s exactly what you want.

The three bedrooms are actually spacious by city standards – I mean, we’re not talking suburban mansion here, but you won’t be bumping into each other every five minutes either. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city. The two bathrooms are a godsend if you’re traveling with a group because let’s face it, nobody wants to wait in line for a shower after trudging through Times Square. The kitchen is fully equipped too, which came in handy when we grabbed fresh produce from the Park Avenue Market just a few blocks down – you know what they say about New York restaurant prices adding up fast.

Here’s the thing about East Harlem that most tourists don’t realize: you’re literally a ten-minute walk to the Conservatory Garden entrance of Central Park, but you’re also surrounded by some of the most authentic Dominican and Puerto Rican food in the city. I’m talking about places like Patsy’s Pizza (the original one from 1933) just down on 117th Street, or the incredible mofongo at Margon Restaurant. The three-star rating might seem modest, but this place delivers on comfort and location in a way that actually matters to real travelers. The 6 train at 110th Street gets you to Midtown in about twenty minutes, and honestly, coming back to this neighborhood each evening felt like escaping the tourist madness while still being right in the thick of everything. If you’re looking for marble lobbies and concierge service, look elsewhere – but if you want to live like a New Yorker for a few days and have enough space to actually unpack your suitcase, this spot hits the mark.

  I loved the view it was beautiful, just to be able to look out and see the daily ins and outs if the city and people. Sound crazy but I loved the water pressure and the fact the hit water was HOT! Beds were comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: I hated that I had to walk up 3 flights each day. I never thought to ask what floor it was on and I have bad knees. Also I was the only one that could unlock the door. It really needs to be fixed because we were outside for 10 mins trying to jiggle the lock to make it work. Please get that fixed bc for some, it would have been a disaster. Literally 10/15 minutes until we entered at different occasions.

  Very very easy communication with the host who was a female called Elizabeth . Did this by WhatsApp. Due to new York traffic from JFK she still maintained we got the key and confirmed location.
  
  The apartment is spotless, safe and enough room. It was so so hot and very well heated for minus 5 c is good.
  
  The area is just in east Harlem and 12 minutes walk from 116 subway station. In all can get grand central with the walk in 25 mins.
  The subway is easy to use and full of crazy people which after two rides becomes the norm for the city.
  Spoke to local NYPD who are in the area often. The area felt safe to me but I’m a male.
  Good local shops and recommend the pizza takeaway / restaurant Patsys – spoke to some locals inside who traveled for the pizza.
  
  In all this is a proper Manhattan apartment and gives you the feel for the city away from the tourist areas.
