Best Western Plus Soho Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Best Western Plus Soho Hotel on Walker Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a chain property in this part of town. But you know what? This three-star spot actually surprised me in all the right ways, and I mean that as someone who’s probably stayed in half the hotels below 14th Street.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things without paying SoHo prices. You’re technically in Chinatown (Walker Street runs right through the heart of it), which means incredible dumplings at Joe’s Shanghai are literally a two-minute walk, and you can grab fresh fruit from the street vendors for basically nothing. But here’s the thing – you’re also just a quick stroll to SoHo’s boutiques and galleries, and Little Italy is right there too. I actually found myself walking to different neighborhoods for meals each night because everything felt so accessible. The subway situation is solid too – you’ve got Canal Street station nearby with about four different lines, so getting uptown or to Brooklyn is pretty painless.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care about the place. The front desk folks knew the neighborhood inside and out – they pointed me toward this tiny coffee spot on Mott Street that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting good jazz, they didn’t just say “go to the Village” like most places would. The rooms themselves are clean and modern without trying too hard to be trendy, which honestly works better in New York where you’re not spending much time in your room anyway. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have been updated recently – good water pressure, which you can’t take for granted in older buildings down here. The windows do a decent job blocking out street noise too, though you’ll still hear some of the city buzz, but that’s just part of the experience. One small thing that impressed me – they have a business center that’s actually useful, not just a broken printer in a corner somewhere. Overall, it’s one of those places where you feel like you’re getting more than you paid for, especially considering you’re staying in one of the most expensive cities in the world while being walking distance from some of the best food and culture it has to offer.
New York’s apartments offer urban accommodations with skyline views, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich American metropolis.

Location was excellent. Great to have breakfast included. Clean property, helpful staff.
Gym available though I didn’t use it.
What could be improved: Housekeeping came to my room at 10am, when checkout was at 11am. Small detail but it was a bit strange. The price felt high, but compared to other offerings nearby GREAT VALUE! That’s Manhattan I suppose. I don’t understand why it’s Beat Western Plus but I’m sure it’s more branding than anythingGreat location near Chinatown and Little Italy. Clean and affordable. The hotel is clean, the staff is very kind. The location is near chinatown, little Italy. Not far by feet from 9/11 Memorial… so a very good place to stay

The staff was great. The bed and pillows were perfect. I slept like a baby every night. The breakfast was very good and the fact they had coffee and tea all day was terrific.
What could be improved: It was a fantastic stay and I have nothing to complain about.
