Courtyard New York Manhattan/Upper East Side Overview

I’ll be honest, when I first walked into the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Upper East Side, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star hotel in this neighborhood – but you know what, it actually surprised me in some really good ways. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels way more put-together than some of the tired chain hotels you see around the city, and the staff genuinely seemed to care about getting people sorted quickly (which, let’s face it, is half the battle in New York).

What really won me over was the location on East 92nd Street – I mean, you’re right in the heart of the Upper East Side without dealing with the absolute chaos of Midtown. You can walk to Central Park in about five minutes, which is perfect for morning runs or just escaping the concrete for a bit. The whole Carnegie Hill area around there has this quieter, more residential feel, but you’re still close enough to hop on the 4, 5, or 6 train at 86th Street when you need to get downtown. I actually loved being able to grab coffee at Gregory’s just around the corner, and there’s this little Italian place called Sistina on Second Avenue that locals swear by – definitely better than whatever room service situation you’ll find at most hotels.

The rooms themselves are pretty standard Courtyard fare, but honestly, they’re clean and the beds are comfortable enough after long days of walking around the city. The windows aren’t huge, but you get decent natural light, and the air conditioning actually works properly (trust me, this matters in July). One thing I appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – being on 92nd Street means you’re not dealing with the sirens and honking that never stop in busier parts of Manhattan. The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s a little market downstairs if you need snacks or forgot your phone charger. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but for the price point and location, it hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting actual value. Plus, parking is available if you’re crazy enough to drive in the city, though honestly, just take the train from wherever you’re coming from – you’ll thank me later.

  • Very Good – Dianne from Israel – August 19, 2025 (8/10)

Very helpful to have a laundry room downstairs.

What could be improved: Crazy high price for a three star hotel.

  • Good – Mukundan from Switzerland – July 25, 2025 (7/10)

  • Convenient walk to Mt Sinai. Tidy rooms, good service. – Sharon from United States – July 14, 2025 (8/10)

I spent two nights, two different rooms. Rooms are tidy.

What could be improved: It was really hot in NYC when we were there and the AC was barely squeaking out any cold air, however it was better than none at all.

  • Great value for money. – Nava from Israel – July 2, 2025 (9/10)

Very clean, very comfortable beds, spacious enough room, nice bathroom products.

What could be improved: Location a bit not central, staff stuck to protocol and felt strict and curt.

  • Decent but nothing special – Pamela from United States – June 24, 2025 (7/10)

Parking and circular drive way to pull in

What could be improved: Lack of decent coffee creamer
    Food

  • Great stay in convenient location to access Mt.Sinai/Hess Conference Center.. – Cheryl from United States – June 24, 2025 (8/10)

    Convenient location

What could be improved: Super small room.

  • Definitely a great place to stay for doing activities in the upper East side of Manhattan. – David from United States – June 11, 2025 (8/10)

Clean and QUIET! We were surprised to hear very little outside traffic noise or sound from in the hotel. Room had plenty of light also!

What could be improved: Only real negative was no night light in the bathroom. It would be very nice to not be exposed to blinding light when using the bathroom in the middle of the night.

  • Good but could have been great – Tim from United States – June 1, 2025 (7/10)

The hotel was clean and in a great location. They did have an area for storage of our items while we waited to check in.

What could be improved: The hotel wifi never worked. The elevator was slow during peak times due to more people using it. Figured the hotel would have more elevators. We arrived early and asked if we could check in early and instead of saying to us "they would put in a request" they should have just told us that’s not possible so we didn’t wait around for almost an hour before we realized we couldn’t.

  • Simply lovely. – Peggy from United States – May 28, 2025 (9/10)

    Comfort and location.

What could be improved: Less noise and stable room temperature.
