Well, the windows here are thick enough that it becomes this pleasant white noise instead of the usual assault on your eardrums. What really got me was stepping out onto the terrace in the morning – there’s something about seeing the city wake up from that height that makes you feel like you’re in on some secret. The four-star rating makes sense when you consider the finishes and attention to detail, though I’d say the real draw is just having that much space to spread out. The kitchen actually has counter space (revolutionary concept in NYC), and the living area doesn’t require furniture Tetris to accommodate everyone.

Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk from Times Square if that’s your thing, but more importantly, you’re close enough to the good stuff without being in the middle of the tourist swarm. The 6 train at 51st Street becomes your best friend, and there’s a decent bodega right around the corner that stays open late – crucial when you realize at midnight that you need coffee for the morning. Parking is obviously a nightmare, but that’s Manhattan for you, not the apartment’s fault. What I really appreciated was how the building’s doorman actually seemed to know what was going on, unlike some places where they just nod and hope for the best. Check-in was smooth, though they’re pretty strict about the eight-person maximum, so don’t try to sneak in extra guests. The whole setup works especially well if you’re traveling with multiple couples or a big family – everyone gets their own space without paying for multiple hotel rooms, and you can actually cook a real meal if you get tired of eating out every night.

  Location was excellent with being so close to Times Square. The apartment itself was a dream with so much open space , views of Empire State Building and the soothing by decor. Special thanks to Lauren for helping accommodate special requests as we were with little kids and going above and beyond to make our stay exceptionally comfortable and welcoming.
  
  What could be improved: Really minor, hand soaps were a bit watered down and could be better.
