Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square North Overview

You know what struck me first about Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square North? It’s actually tucked away on West 46th Street in a spot where you can slip away from the madness but still be right in the thick of everything. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the chaos of Times Square, but when you duck into this three-star spot, there’s this immediate sense of relief – like stepping into a pocket of calm that somehow exists in midtown Manhattan.

The thing is, most people assume anything near Times Square is going to be either ridiculously overpriced or pretty sketchy, but this place honestly surprised me. The lobby has this modern, clean vibe without trying too hard to be fancy, and the staff actually seems to know what they’re doing (which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in New York). I stayed here during one of those brutal July weeks when the city feels like a furnace, and their AC was a godsend – you could actually sleep without feeling like you’re melting into the sheets. The rooms aren’t huge, obviously, because it’s Manhattan and space costs more than gold here, but they’re smartly designed with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. Like, there’s enough outlets near the bed for your phone and laptop, and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly feels like winning the lottery in some NYC hotels.

Here’s what I really appreciated – you can walk to pretty much anywhere you’d want to go. The subway entrance at Times Square-42nd Street is right there, obviously, but if you’re feeling ambitious, you can actually walk to Central Park in about fifteen minutes, or head down to the Garment District if you want to see a slightly grittier, more authentic side of the city. And late at night, when Times Square gets that weird mix of tourists and theater people spilling out of shows, you’re close enough to soak it all in but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the noise all night long. The area gets pretty quiet after midnight, which surprised me – I was expecting sirens and street noise constantly, but West 46th is actually pretty residential once you get away from the main drags. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator situation during busy times – there’s clearly not enough of them for a building this size, so you might find yourself waiting a bit during check-in rushes. But honestly, for the price point and location, this place delivers exactly what it promises without any of the unpleasant surprises that can make or break a New York trip.

Hotels in New York offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of the Big Apple, with easy access to Wall Street, vibrant nightlife, and renowned attractions like Statue of Liberty.

Reviews of Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square North

  • Great location but not worth visiting again. – Essi from Finland – September 2, 2025 (7/10)

The location was excellent. The hotel was clean and the room was decent size. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby in the mornings and cold water during the day.

What could be improved: The AC made an awfully loud noise so we didn’t really sleep properly during our stay since it was too hot sleep without the AC. The bathroom had a glass door so you could see inside and hear everything.

  • Great stay at a great location in NYC – Lucian from United States – August 27, 2025 (9/10)

The staff was nice and helpful with storing luggage before check-in and after check-out. The room was big and clean. It has everything you need.

What could be improved: The air conditioning unit in the room is very noisy.

  • Very Good – Jennifer from United States – August 26, 2025 (8/10)
