Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District by IHG, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star spot in the heart of all that Wall Street chaos. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The location on Trinity Place is sort of perfect if you think about it – you’re literally steps from Trinity Church (which, honestly, is worth seeing even if you’re not religious), and Stone Street’s cobblestones and historic pubs are right around the corner. I mean, where else can you grab a coffee and walk to both the 9/11 Memorial and South Street Seaport without breaking a sweat? The thing about staying down here in lower New York is that it gets surprisingly quiet after business hours – all those finance folks head uptown, and you’re left with this almost village-like feeling that most tourists never experience.

What really got me about this Indigo was how they’ve embraced that whole neighborhood story without being cheesy about it. The rooms have this industrial-meets-cozy thing going on, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than you’d expect. The bathrooms are compact but smartly designed – I appreciated the rainfall showerhead after walking around the city all day. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe request a room facing away from Trinity Place since the morning delivery trucks can be a bit much around 6 AM. The staff here actually knows the area, which sounds basic but trust me, it’s not always the case. They pointed me toward some excellent hole-in-the-wall spots that I never would’ve found otherwise, including this tiny Vietnamese place on Stone Street that locals apparently keep secret.

The lobby has this cool local artist rotation thing happening – when I was there, they had photography from the neighborhood’s history mixed with contemporary pieces. It’s the kind of detail that makes you realize someone actually thought about this place instead of just slapping together generic hotel art. Parking is going to cost you (this is Manhattan, after all), but the Fulton Street subway station is basically a two-minute walk, so you can get anywhere pretty easily. I actually loved being able to walk to Brooklyn Bridge in the morning before the crowds showed up – there’s something magical about having that view almost to yourself around 7 AM. For the price point and that 8.9 rating it’s earned, this place delivers way more character and local flavor than those sterile Midtown boxes that cost twice as much.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in New York at least three months ahead for major events like marathons and holiday celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular Manhattan attractions.

Great stay in the financial district!

Excellent location in the financial district, which is the oldest area in the city! Incredibly walkable, decent food around (7th street burger is a must), and a lot of things to see and do! Hotel itself is great. Clean, great size, comfortable and nice rooms!

What could be improved: My only note is that the AC unit is loud. I didn’t think too much of it, because it’s New York; however, I did end up turning it off. Yes, because of the noise, but also because I just didn’t need it on. Very small detail if you *need* the AC on!

Great Place In Downtown Manhattan

We liked the area, a bit more quiet but close to the subway and downtown. The room was clean and comfy. The staff are nice and helpful. Also, the hotel restaurant is really good and the happy hour is a bargain.

What could be improved: The waiting time for the elevators can be longer at times and the water pressure in the shower is a bit low but overall it's not a big deal.

I loved it overall!! Great location, will be returning!

Convenient and clean!! Very fair rate and attentive staff! You can’t get that everywhere!!

What could be improved: I wish there had been more than 1 ice machine in the entire complex!!
