I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Park South Central 3 Bedroom with Private Terrace, I wasn’t expecting much from what sounds like a pretty generic apartment rental name. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. You’re right in the heart of NoMad, which honestly feels like one of New York‘s best-kept secrets – close enough to Midtown that you can walk to most places, but without all the tourist chaos that comes with staying near Times Square.

The location on East 28th is pretty perfect, actually. You’ve got the 6 train literally two blocks away at 28th Street, and I mean, you’re walking distance to Madison Square Park, which is where all the locals hang out when the weather’s decent. The neighborhood has this weird mix of old-school New York charm and newer spots – there’s a great coffee place called Birch that’s maybe three minutes away, and honestly, some of the best casual dining I’ve found in the city is right around there. What really got me about this four-star setup though was that private terrace. I mean, outdoor space in Manhattan? That’s basically like finding a unicorn, especially at this price point. It’s not huge, but it’s got decent furniture and you can actually see some sky, which sounds silly until you’ve been trapped in a windowless hotel room for a few days.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a rental – the three bedrooms are actually spacious enough that you’re not bumping into each other constantly, and the kitchen is fully functional. I actually cooked breakfast a couple times, which saved a fortune compared to eating out every meal. The whole place has this comfortable, lived-in vibe without being worn down, you know? My only real complaint is that the building can get a bit noisy – you’re on a pretty active street, and the walls aren’t super thick. If you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack some earplugs. But honestly, that’s just New York life. The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it nails the basics and gives you that rare combination of space, location, and reasonable value that’s pretty hard to find in this neighborhood. Plus, having that terrace means you can grab some wine from the Whole Foods on 14th (about a ten-minute walk) and actually have somewhere nice to drink it while watching the city do its thing below.

  Great location close to all attractions. Very clean and had almost everything you could need.
  
  What could be improved: Overall good but some small details which could be improved for the price paid. Air con in bedroom leaks water so could not use, security chain on door doesn’t work and communal areas covered in litter.

  The beds were very comfortable. The location was decently accessible to the subways. The building and streets were quiet. We felt safe enough. The large mirror in the hallway was a huge help.
  
  What could be improved: We had several issues with the showers and no help getting them fixed. We made due, but having a more responsive contact would have been helpful. Lighting was odd in the space, and a smoke detector was removed.

  L’appartement était grand et confortable, la literie excellente.
  Depuis une des chambres, on peut voir le haut de l’empire State building.
  La localisation est parfaite, près de tout.
  La terrasse est très belle.
  
  What could be improved: Une des douches a un jet qui part au plafond et le ballon d’eau chaude est insuffisant pour 4 personnes si on prend la douche les uns après les autres. Mais c’est un détail comparé à tout le positif.

  The Host was super friendly and efficient. Check in and check out was seamless.
  The location was fantastic and accommodation spacious and spotless. Three super double bedrooms.
  Host remained available at all times to assist if required but were not needed.
  Will certainly be back to fully utilise the terrace which wasn’t practical due to the snowfall during our stay.
